POST 8: English Language Challenges

By taking the English test when I matriculated at the university, I was able to homologate the first two classes of English, and this online context has been easier than I expected, I don't know if it would have been different in presencial but I liked that they haven't been a bad load at the university. Regarding blogs, the truth is that they are done quite quickly, although sometimes one tends to use the translator, however, this week the blogs became very exhausting because I did four in one pass, luckily this is the last one (I think) haha. Regarding my English I must improve my pronunciation, in my mind it sounds great but when I speak it sounds horrible haha, I also have to improve my nerves when speaking, because I get very nervous and not remembering or knowing the word I want to say well makes me feel much more nervous in the situation of having a fluent conversation, although if I spoke with a foreigner I wouldn't be so nervous, it's more the nerves regarding...

POST 7: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Imagen
To begin, I'm in my second year in the degree of forestry engineering, where I have only gone to university twice and I have gone to outdoors of 3 days in all this time, when most of the time the degree in a normal state happens in making land than in the university, so I will only talk about how little I know. Until now I wouldn't change anything in the curriculum of the career since all the branches are related in some way, so taking one wouldn't give good results, I would like if the number of years that the career lasts would be shortened, in Spain for example It only lasts 3 years, it would still be great, especially in my case, I don't have any scholarship or gratuity so 5 years is a lot of money in monthly payments. As I said before, I have only been to the university twice, in green areas it is very beautiful and rustic, but the infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired, it is all very small and very old; Regarding technology, I don't know what to say to th...

POST 6: Time travel to the future

Imagen
The truth is that I don't know if I would like to travel through time, because knowing myself I would travel to intervene in some important event of humanity, which could change everything that we know in that reality; and if I traveled to the future it would be to know what would happen to my family and my life, so I feel that all things go through something so I would rather let life surprise me. However, I would like to travel far back in time, to the triassic period to meet dinosaurs, I don't know exactly where specifically because the planet earth has undergone several changes geographically, I am happy to get to a place where there is a great diversity of dinosaurs and plants; I know it sounds dangerous but I would love to have seen them in their natural environment; maybe I will die in a few seconds, maybe not, and if I don't die so soon I would like to see as many dinosaurs as possible and at the same time see the nature that existed before and without human interv...

POST 5: My future job

Imagen
Obviously I would like to work on something related to my career, I'm studying forestry engineering, I chose this career because I want to help the conservation of plant species in Chile and help in a certain way to raise awareness and educate people regarding the importance of the conservation of nature; That is why I would like to be part of the CONAF and work in a park to be outdoors, in direct contact with nature and the people who are going to visit them, in order to teach them how important it's and how we should take care of protected areas. In the same way, even if I worked in Chile, I would like to travel to increase my knowledge in another country, perhaps do a magister to specialize in some subject, I would like something related to fauna; I would also like to travel to know new species of plants and the places that obviously host them. The truth is, I wouldn't expect to earn a lot of money, my future plans do not involve having a family, so the living expenses ...

POST 4: topic is free but themed and the theme will be about your profession.

Imagen
Being a forest engineer is one of the ways to help the world in a lot of aspect of flora, fauna and biotic components, through a balance between obtaining their services and conserving them; which is very important, because our existence and well being depends on nature. That is one of the many reasons that motivated me to study forestry engineering, I love the fact of constantly interacting with nature and getting to know it more every day. My idea has always been to see a change for the better in the world, and to be part of it, that is why when I am already become a professional I will seek to help in the conservation and recovery of different species of plants and animals; for that I want to have a greater specialization in terms of fauna. At the same time I want to guide and inform people, so that awareness is generated that everything has his limits, that way we can all be part of a change where our generation and future generations can have and enjoy nature.

Post 3: Free themed topic

Today I'm going to talk about my pets. I have 6 dogs (soon we will have 7 because we are going to adopt another jeje) and 3 cats.  In the following lines I will introduce each one: Almendra is 3 years old, we adopted her when she was two months old, she's the alpha, she's a very intelligent and physically capable dog. Meche (María Mercedes hahaha) is 6 years old, she is a very playful fox terrier and breaks things but her previous family didn't have patience for her, so we received her when she was 4 years old.  Princesa is 5 years old, she lived in a workshop where no one ever bothered to sterilize her; we got tired of seeing her like this and we adopted/stole her when she was 2 years old hahaha, she is a sweetheart, too affectionate.  Leona is 2 years old, she is part of the last calving that princess had before coming with us. Since she was 6 months old, she has been with us, we knew that if we left her in the workshop she would have babies so we also adopted/stole h...

Post 2: The best holidays ever

Imagen
My best holidays ever were in 2018, with my family we went for a week to La Habana the capital of Cuba. We spent the most of the days enjoying the beach, but also we went to meet La Habana for a entire day, we also did snorkel(was amazing, the fishes were so friendly) and we went to Cayo Ernest Thaelmann, was a beautiful island.   The weather was incredible at the beginning because it was raining and at the same time there was sun, however, in the following days it was terribly hot, not even bathing on the beach or in the pool of the hotel it would pass because the water was warm. When we returned we arrived with a very striking skin color hahaha.   They were my best vacations because we were able to relax and share as a family, we also got to know many beautiful places and things that aren't in Chile; it's very cool to know new places. Two of the pictures are of sunsets, they were beautiful.

POST 1: A country you would like to visit

Imagen
I would like to go to Australia, I don’t know specifically where but I want to go because there are so many kind of species of plants and animals that aren´t here in Chile; for other side I know that in certain way this is dangerous haha. This country has many adventages such as education, salary, economy, infrastructure, natural resources, etc., is a great opportunity. In Australia I would like to go to natural spaces to meet all the species of plants and animals that I can. Also I would like to visit natural monuments and views. Meet new people and different cultures. I would like to live and work (on something that has to do with my career obviously) for a couple years, not all my life because I love Chile and I want to share all my knowledge to the people of here and help to advance as a country.

Post 8: A subject you enjoyed studying

Imagen
The subject that I have enjoyed the most these almost 3 semesters of classes has been a module of the field of abiotic components of ecosystems, with the Professor Benito Martinez, in this module we focus on fauna in general and species of Chile, also on how it's their classification depending on the characteristics they possess. I really enjoyed this module because I have always been interested in the field of animals, and in the future I would also like to work on their conservation, as well as that of flora. I liked learning and understanding in the module where animals come from, their evolution, how they are classified, their physiological and morphological characteristics, and their taxonomy, in short, it's very interesting to know about the animal kingdom. Before starting this module I had an idea of what I was going to work, we had already been studying the same aspects but with respect to plant species, so it helped me a lot to have a good disposition.

Post 7: An expert/person in your field that you admire

Imagen
This has been the most difficult post to do because I admire all the expert in my field, because they know so much, but at the same time I feel scary because I don't know if some day I will be good enough like them.  (I didn't find a nice picture :(  ) However the expert that I admire the most is the assistant professor Benito A. Gonzáles, really I don´t know to much of his personal life, but I know that he graduated as an Agricultural Engineer from the Universidad Católica de Chile and has a PhD in Silvoagropecuarian and Veterinary Sciences from the Universidad de Chile. I only had 1 class with him but I would love to have anothers; the reasons that I admire him it´s because he teach so well, his classes weren´t boring and he always gave us a vibe that he is passionate about he does.

In 2016 I started playing as a goalkeeper because my trainer/teacher was searching for a new one for the coca-cola school championship. So this picture is about the most important championship that with my classmates we have won; we train and sacrifice a lot that year but the truth is that we never thought we'd get that far because that championship is the most important in Chile(for the schools) and the final was in the Estadio Nacional. We were so nervous at the final, we were losing 3-1 with 10 minutes left, we ended up winning 4-3, it was a heart attack game but as we always say "The game does't end untill the last whistle". Thanks all this i found something that i was very good, for sure i play in other posiions but I´m not good enough. Today I still play in a local club, I know it isn't something professional but the important thing is to keep playing and improving.

Post 4: meet my top 3 of meals

Imagen
Hiiii i really like all the foods especially fruits and vegetables, obviously some more than others, however it´s difficult to say what´s my favourite one, especially when the food has different flavors depending on who cooked it. But i can do a top 3; the first one is lasagna cook by my mother(i try to do it once, it was nice but not like hers), the second one is fried empanada of pino by my great-grandmother(i have taste a lot of fried an baked empanadas but none compares) and the last one is sushi from a a place near where i live. I love these meals because they are so full of flavors. I know that my top 3 isn´t too healthy but i i just eat them in especial occasions, but when i do it i eat like there´s no more food in the world hahaha.

Love and hate with my phone

Imagen
Since I was little, when the first more advanced phones started to come out, like the "almeja" I had them because my mother liked to communicate with me. that's why I consider phones my favorite technology for many reasons. I like to be in communication with my family and friends, listen to music, use applications and social networks to stay informed and find new information, I also enjoy taking pictures to capture nature or special moments; but sometimes I get distracted and don't realize how much time I'm wasting, so I try to push it away, especially when I'm doing college stuff. Having a telephone is totally recommended but you must control the time that  you spend using it.

Growing up it's a craziness

Since I was a child I have always liked nature, that is why my dream was to become a veterinarian, but when I grew up I realized that it isn´t that simple. I did the psu twice, the first was a shame ahaha, however, I could have studied but I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I decided to wait a year to prepare better and think well, in that year I found this career and I loved it , although I was also interested in commercial engineering; However, I finally decided on forestry engineering because it would depend on the work i would help to conserve and protect the flora and fauna. Now that I'm studying I love the career more, but I feel like I'm not learning well because online classes:(. I would like to work in the ministry of the environment to bring about changes at a higher level.
